Luke Haines (aka Mr.Auteur &
Mr.Black Box Recorder): "There's nothing dislikeable about Pulp, that's really weird because I can find something dislikeable
about every group."

Some of my favourite quotes..
Question :: How much
did the large-breasted woman accosting you at the Shelter charity football match affect your game?
Jarvis :: "The
nearest I came to scoring that day."
When Pulp were
being filmed at a festival... Glastonbury, I think.. This is some film guy talking :: "When we went to film Jarvis, we took
along a make-up girl. She said 'Would you like any powder before we start filming?' He said 'No thanks, I'm happy with my
wine.'"
When Jarvis was asked
how it feels to be a sex-symbol :: "It hasn't always been like this. They didn't used to write on my school reports 'Jarvis
could do better in this subject.. and he's a sex god.'"
Question :: Are
you a positive role-model for young men today?
Jarvis :: "Yes. If people work out enough, they could have a physique
like mine."
Russell :: "Jarvis brought
his girlfriend round for dinner once. He bought this chicken, which was black. And he's saying 'Are chickens generally this
colour raw?' and I'm like 'Well no Jarvis, they're generally more pink.' Anyway we sat down to eat and Jarvis brought in these
potatoes and lettuce. So we're waiting for the rest of the food to arrive. But it never came. That was it."
When Jarvis was asked what
the strangest present he received in 1994 :: "I got a pair of red, synthetic satin women's pants through the post the other
day with a phone number on. That was quite strange. I haven't tried the phone number. In times of stress I may."
Candidan :: "..I
really like the group, I'm glad I'm not in a crap one.."
Russell :: "Trying
to teach Jarvis to drive was very frightening, he hadn't mastered the hill-start and we tended to roll backwards at a very
fast rate. And the exhaust fumes used to come inside the vehicle a lot, which accounts for a certain kind of braincell loss
in the '80's."
Nick :: "We've
all got our feet on the
ground-ish."
Jarvis' first memory,
when he was 2 & a half, after Saskia's birth :: "My mum was breast-feeding her in bed, and I wanted to have a go. I couldn't
understand why my mother wouldn't let me. I felt really left out. And that set me ona path I've never really strayed from,
I guess."
